Eat Fresh. Buy Local.

Connecting the community to locally grown and harvested foods

The Fresh Harvest Kitchen is a project of the Southern Rhode Island Conservation District (SRICD) developed to support local food producers and create a more resilient local food system while assisting the residents of Washington and Kent Counties to conserve their natural resources now and for future generations.

Through the Fresh Harvest Kitchen, we help facilitate the distribution of locally grown, harvested and produced foods by providing access to wholesale and retail sales opportunities to artisanal fishermen, small-scale farmers and local food businesses. The facility is a fully licensed commercial seafood dealer and processing kitchen allowing us to buy directly from fishermen and offer the community some of the freshest seafood in the area.

Stop in and purchase local seafood, farm products and other hand made items or try one of cooked to order lunch special and or grab and go meals. We also offer free educational programs and tasting events to connect the community with local food sources and how to prepare and enjoy local products which may be unfamiliar.
