Winter 2025 News from the Southern RI Conservation District (SRICD)

Greetings from the National Association of Conservation District's (NACD) annual meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah! We are halfway through the winter and the Southern Rhode Island Conservation District team has been very busy! In addition to working with our farmers, forest owners and landowners preparing for the upcoming growing season, we are thrilled to be working in and serving our clients at our new officie space located at 9 East Avenue in Westerly, next door to our Fresh Harvest Kitchen!
We recently held the first of our "Eating Around the World" series with our recent pierogi tasting event at Fresh Harvest Kitchen where we featured three varieties of pierogi's handmade by local ""chefs," including one from yours truly from a family recipe.
Next week, week will be hosting a Local Working Group session to gather public input on programs and services we provide as well as an online survey that we hope you will complete so that can better meet your needs. Check out the details below.
We are also happy to be working with the Carrot Project to offer a free business coaching sessions for our farmers.
